Podcast Applications

It took me a long time to go from listening to shows on the website to using an iTunes podcast application on my iPad. I was working on a painting job in my basement that was taking several days. My spouse brought down the iPad and hooked it up to some speakers. Then he showed me how to find different podcasts using the iTunes podcast application. It provided great entertainment while I worked on my project!

So let’s take a look at some options for podcast applications that will make finding, listening to, and subscribing to podcasts a cinch.

iPhones, iPads…

If you’re using an iOS device, you should already have the iTunes/Apple Podcasts application installed. Look for purple icon (left) with the letter “i”.

Below is a YouTube video by BlueHair Technology Group that explains how to get started finding and listening to podcasts using iTunes/Apple Podcasts. It is a couple of years old, but the demonstration will still get you on the right track.

Overcast is another application that will work with your iOS device.

Android

If you’re using an Android device, here is a quick overview about how to install a podcast application on your device. In this video, PocketCast is featured. However, there are many apps available.

Also, check out Google Podcasts. For podcasts, this is replacing Google Play, which is primarily used for music. Here’s a video with an overview.
